We've long been fans of Travelfish, the go-to online travel guide for Southeast Asian destinations. Whether planning an adventure in Bali, Cambodia, Malaysia, or Vietnam, it’s always been a trusted resource. So, you can imagine our excitement when Travelfish Vietnam editor Angela Schonberg reached out about joining our Saigon After Dark tour for a feature.
Angela and her boyfriend joined us on a rain-free evening, along with three other guests—local expats Rachel and Rupert and their Singaporean friend Dmitry, who was visiting for the weekend. It was the perfect group for an evening of exploring the hidden gems of Ho Chi Minh City, zipping through the bustling streets on a vintage Vespa, and indulging in some of the best Vietnamese food the city has to offer.

An Authentic Taste of Ho Chi Minh City
The Saigon After Dark tour takes guests beyond the typical tourist spots, offering a deep dive into the city’s vibrant nightlife and food scene. Our journey started in true Saigon style—on the back of a beautifully restored Vespa scooter, just as locals have done for decades. From buzzing street food stalls to tucked-away bars filled with live music, every stop on this tour is designed to capture the city's after-hours magic.
Angela and the group sampled authentic Vietnamese street food, from sizzling bánh xèo (crispy Vietnamese pancakes) to fresh seafood, perfectly paired with a cold local beer. Along the way, we stopped at a hidden café with live music, a place that few visitors ever stumble upon. These are the experiences that make Vespa Adventures in Vietnam so unique—offering travelers a chance to experience the city like a local.

The Travelfish Review
The best part? Angela shared her experience in an amazing blog post on Travelfish, summing up exactly what makes this tour special:
"Vietnam Vespa Adventures takes guests off the beaten path and shows them, I think, a more authentic side of the city with their Saigon After Dark tour. And with Vespa Adventures, you get to see Saigon in style, from the back of restored, late 1960s-early 1970s Vespas."
She couldn’t have said it better. One of the highlights of the review? How the tour takes guests to places they never even knew existed:
"I loved the tour; it took me to places so far off the beaten path that I hadn’t even heard of them. So, if you’re coming to town, or you’ve been here for a while, and you want a fun night out where you can experience the real Saigon, give it a try!"
Experience It for Yourself on a Vintage Vespa
For those wondering what to do in Ho Chi Minh City, this tour is a must. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a long-term expat, hopping on a Vespa scooter for a night of food, culture, and adventure is an unforgettable way to experience the city.
Thanks again to Angela, Max, and the entire Travelfish team for joining us on this ride. We look forward to welcoming more curious travelers looking to explore Saigon the way it was meant to be seen—on two wheels!
