This exciting day out kicks off with a visit to Three Kings monument to meet your guide and fellow travelers. Then we take off through the city’s back lanes to a wholesale market with some fruit tasting there and we continue out of town to a quiet stretch of the Ping River where we’ll stop for a cup of herbal tea and have a brief about Thai agriculture.
Then it’s time to head for the hills, winding up to higher elevations, cooler temperatures and verdant landscapes where we will visit flower and produce Thai farms. On the way, we will have a stop at a temple and learn about Lana history . Ater that we will take a break for coffee along the way and for photos at a scenic viewpoint. The Vespa tour continues to an environmental project where they make elephant poo paper. The tour will continue on the scenic road with many chances of nice photos and then have a stretch-leg stop at a farm and learn about a social project for farmers with some drinks or ice cream.
After driving along the Ping river and have a delicious lunch of local dishes, the adventure continues with a ride along another beautiful road then back to the city center.

We take safety seriously! Guests will sit behind experienced drivers throughout the tour.
The weather will be significantly cooler in the mountains, as we reach an elevation of around 1200 meters above sea level. It is recommended to dress in layers, especially in the cool season (Nov-Feb) when the temperatures can drop below 10C (50F).
Our preferred stop is Elefin Cafe. It was set up during COVID by the same owners of Patara Elephant Farm, as a way to support their rescue elephants and continue to raise awareness about elephant conservation. Both locations provide healthy, safe environments for rescue elephants to live. The elephants are not chained and are allowed to roam freely. We stay for around 30 minutes to feed some bananas or bamboo to the elephants and learn about the project.
All of our Vespa Adventures Chiang Mai tours include a local guide, comfortable Vespa with backrest and a driver (you’ll be riding on the back), helmets and rain poncho. We also include hotel pick up and drop off if you are staying in the city center. If you are staying a bit further out, we can arrange a transfer for a supplement- just let us know when booking! And also we include entrance fees, snacks (fresh fruit), lunch at a local restaurant and drinks (tea, coffee and juice/soft drink).
